Crocodile Man Tours was founded in 1992 in the small town of Tárcoles, located in the province of Puntarenas, Costa Rica. This beautiful place, surrounded by stunning natural scenery and abundant wildlife, has traditionally relied on artisanal fishing as its main source of income. However, faced with limited job opportunities, we decided to look for new ways to improve the quality of life for our families.
Inspired by the richness of the Tárcoles River—home to the impressive American crocodiles and a paradise for bird lovers—we embarked on a dream to share the wonders of our region with the world. This is how Crocodile Man Tours was born: a family-run company committed to responsible tourism, environmental conservation, and the well-being of our community.
Today, we are a proud Costa Rican company that provides employment to many people from Tárcoles. Most of our team members are locals who have grown up surrounded by nature and possess deep knowledge about the river’s wildlife. They enjoy sharing their passion and stories with every visitor.
For over three decades, we have welcomed thousands of tourists from all around the world, offering much more than just a tour — we deliver an authentic, educational, and unforgettable experience.
We are the pioneers of this adventure. That’s why we’re known as: Crocodile Man Tour, the Original.
